Areas

There are three areas in the Sortie menu: Sortie, Survey, and Bouts.

Sortie

This is the front lines where you will battle enemies. Each Map/Era has Regions and then battlefields that you must choose in order to start a battle. For more information, please see Battle.

Survey

Surveys will send off one of your teams for a time specified on the area. A successful survey will have your team bringing back items and/or resources and they will also get EXP.

Each area has requirements in order to survey and you can only send out a team that meets those requirements. Please not Team One cannot be sent on surveys.

Any sword that is out on a survey cannot be refined or repaired. If you recall a team before the survey is complete and without an item known as a “Survey Recall Pigeon,” the survey will end in failure. Survey Recall Pigeons can be purchased from the store.

Once the time has passed for the survey, the team will return. Go to Honmaru to receive them.

Bouts

Bouts are a mock battle against other Saniwa’s swords, and will gain your swords EXP. Once you select a Saniwa to fight, the bout will begin immediately. Any damage that your sword take during the bout will be automatically recovered once the battle is done.
